Traian is a rock gnome artificer with a specialization in alchemy. He is 3’4’’ tall, has uncombed shaggy brown hair kept in place by a set of safety goggles on his forehead. His clothes are a wild assortment of practical considerations and worn-out items with burnt holes from acid splashes – the entire look is lacking a sense of fashion and harmony. Traian is 56 years old and grew up in the gnome settlement of Gnomenguard in the Leto Kingdom. He worked in his uncle Bogdan’s workshop as an apprentice of artifice for many years and learned many things about gnomish tinkering and crafting. His time in the workshop came to an end when his tutor and uncle was shot with a poisoned arrow. Traian tried his best to create an antidote against the poison, but he failed, and Bogdan died.
Traian has an almost unwavering productive optimism, always believing he’ll be able to fix it. Even if the situation seems hopeless, he tries to fall back on this tenet. His philosophy and world view seem to be informed by a moral imperative of striving towards a brighter future through innovation, conviction, and cooperation. He has expressed how power gives you a responsibility to protect others and improve the world - thus he detests the inertia of the Council of Arch Mages. The rules of conversation and social conduct only have a limited grasp on Traian who continues to confuse and befuddle the people he encounters with both unusual directness, but also meandering clarifications and justifications.
Traian’s alchemical ability mostly rely on the enhancement of a person’s ability combined with the vicious burning of fire and acid. Contrary to his overwhelmingly positive nature, his usual combat strategies are doping his friends and singing his enemies. Over the ascent of the Pinnacle Tower, he has acquired the mythical Armor of Daedal and he is wielding the Copycat Power Gem.
